Once upon a time, there was a fat cat named Cat, and a girl called Jo. Jo loved winter because she believed that winter was
about Christmas, meaning cheerful gatherings and joy. So she decided to visit winter town when she was 12, which is the permissible age to enter the different towns. There were also spring town, summer town, autumn town, bus town, sea town etc.
On the day of her arrival, winter town was snowing.
Cat was the guardian of winter town. Snow was his food.
At the entrance, Jo asked Cat if she could share some snow with her because she was so hungry.
Cat said:
"No, these are my food. Nobody knows when will it will stop snowing. I need it to survive."
"But" Cat continued:
"this place is boring, if you can find me something interesting, we probably can do an exchange!"
Jo smiled and said:
'Deal!'
And she run through the door happily.
The story begins.

About Fung Wing Yan
ung Wing Yan is a Hong Kong artist, specialising in contemporary Chinese ink painting and ceramics. She graduated from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honors), majoring in Visual Arts.
Fung's works are inspired by the everyday life, nature and the cycles of life itself.
Fung's ceramic works are based on her observations on the relationship between the object and the user, often exuding delight and poetics in subtle ways. For Fung, the activity of eating is not just for sustenance, but also for nourishment of the inner self. Therefore, the utensils designed by Fung, in addition to being practical, aims to bring warmth and joy to the users.
Painting, to Fung, is an important avenue for to self-reflection. Fascinated by children's innocence and freedom, Fung liked to depict chubby children in her earlier works. But ever since one of her close family member passed away in 2014, she decided to use ink painting to express the Universe. The Universe is boundless, the space is endless. There is no sky and no Earth. In the Universe she depicted, there are children carrying out various activities. The depiction of the subjects in the picture space is deliberately kept small in terms of scale. The image is simple, yet the feeling is intense. Fung began to think about how to live her life and learned to be part of nature.
Fung's preference for calm and simplicity have become trademark qualities that her works reflect.
Fung is also active in enhancing with and giving back to the community, especially in areas of education and creativity.
“Winter Wander” exhibition runs from 15 April to 13 May 2023 at Art Projects Gallery.
